Captured and forced to ingest a poison, his body shrinks, transforming him into a child. To hide his identity, Shinichi adopts the alias "Conan Edogawa" and lives with his childhood friend Ran Mori and her father, detective Kogoro Mori, all while solving complex criminal cases using his extraordinary deduction skills. As Conan seeks a way to return to his original body and uncover the true nature of the Black Organization, he faces numerous dangerous plots with help from allies and informants. Detective Conan Editorial Reviews

This isn't a Mystery Manga—It's a Romance Manga!

Today I'd like to introduce "Detective Conan," an anime and manga considered iconic in Japan. Detective Conan is the longest-running mystery manga in the world, currently surpassing 100 volumes. High school detective Shinichi Kudo is drugged by the sinister Black Organization, shrinking him to the size of a first-grader. To track down this group, he stays at the home of detective Kogoro Mori, solving various crimes under the alias Conan Edogawa. Surprisingly, while the manga has run for decades in real life, not even one year has passed in its storyline! Almost daily, murders occur, and Conan brilliantly solves them. The series is famous for clever criminal tricks and Conan's genius deductions. Yet, the greatest charm lies in its romantic storylines: Shinichi's relationship with Ran Mori, Kogoro Mori and Eri's dynamic, and the romance between Heiji Hattori and Kazuha, among others. Many fans enjoy these romantic threads even more than the mysteries themselves. Since it's a lengthy series, I recommend starting with the anime on Netflix. If you enjoy it, diving into the manga afterward is a great idea.
